Publishing Your Site
Publishing is the process of transferring files from your local computer to your host's web server. If you are using components that rely on the FrontPage server extensions, you will probably want to "publish" your site rather than use FTP (file transfer protocol).
To publish, go to File > Publish Site. If you have not published to a site before, you will probably see a blank page.

Click on the Remote Web Site Properties tab near the top right of your screen. The Remote Web Site Properties dialog window will open.

Under the Remote Web Site tab, place a check next to FrontPage Server Extensions. In the box next to Remote Web Site location, type in the full URL of the path where you want your web published.
Important: If I were publishing to my domain name, I would type in http://www.rtbwizards.com. This is my root web or my main web location. If I am publishing to a child web, I would type http://www.rtbwizards.com/mynewweb/. Notice the forward slashes after the domain name and after the sub-web name.
Under the Publishing tab, you will want to select the option to publish Changed Pages only. (Since this is the first time to publish your new web, all of the pages and folders will be published for the first time.) When you publish again, you will only publish pages that have been changed. This will make the process faster.
After you have selected your options, click OK. You will then connect to your web host. Remember that you must be connected to the internet before you begin.
If this is a new web site, you will receive a prompt that there is not a web at the location you specified and you will be asked if you want to create one. Click Yes or OK. Next, you will be prompted for your username and password. This is the username and password that was assigned when you signed up for your web service.
Your publishing view screen will then change to look similar to the screenshot below:

The left panel will show the files and folders on your computer. The right panel will show any existing files and folders on your web host server. (If this is the first time to publish to this location, the right panel will not show any files.) Local to Remote should be checked. If all is in order, click the Publish Web Site button.
While your files are being published, you will be able to see a progress meter with an estimate of how long the publishing process will take. When done, you will find a link where you can view your newly published site.
