Editing the Header Image

If your new template contains a watermarked image, we give you a layered .psd (Photoshop) file that you can edit to replace our image with one of your own. (Note there are many image editing software programs that can open and edit a Photoshop file.)

If you are replacing our sample photo, you will probably need to resize and/or crop your new replacement image so it will fit correctly.

In Photoshop:

In Photoshop, you can click on the layer that has the main image and then drag it to the "trash can". this will delete the layer. You can then create a new layer by going to Layer > New Layer. You can then copy, or drag-and-drop, your photo onto this new layer.

Once you have your new image in place, go to File > Save As. Save the image as header.jpg. Save it to your desktop folder. If prompted, allow your new image to overwrite the old one.

In Paint Shop Pro:

In Paint Shop Pro, you can click on the layer that contains the main image and then hit the "delete" key. This removes the image, but leaves the layer in place. You can then copy your new photo onto this layer.

Once you have your new image in place, go to File > Save As. Save the image as header.jpg. Save it to your desktop folder. If prompted, allow your new image to overwrite the old one.
