Page Rendering in Design View
FrontPage vs. Expression Web
There is a big difference in how FrontPage 2003 handles displaying CSS positioned pages versus Expression Web. While both offer great editing capabilities, how a page looks in Design view can sometimes be quite different.
Below are two screenshots of a page in Design view with the FrontPage version on the left and the Expression Web version on the right.

In FrontPage 2003, the sidebar content is displayed below the main content area. In Expression Web, both areas are shown side by side. This difference can be a bit confusing for those who are using FrontPage 2003. However, preview your page by going to File > Preview in Browser and both versions display the same.

Both programs, however, give you the Quick Tag Selector toolbar that is very helpful in identifying areas on the page and in telling you what CSS classes or IDs are being used in a particular block.
Temporary Misalignment
As you edit your pages, you may notice that some elements might appear out of alignment from time to time. This happens most often when the program is not quite sure of the final size of an element. While it can be distracting when it appears you have lost the page formatting, it is easy to fix. Simply save your page (Control + S) and refresh the page (F5).
At times, however, you may still notice some minor oddities when in Design view. It is a good idea to have a clear view of how your page will look when it is published. To get the most accurate look, you should go to File > Preview in Browser.
You can select various browsers (any you have installed) and view at a variety of different screen resolutions. If you only have Internet Explorer installed, it is a very good idea to download a current version of FireFox. You can do a search on Google to locate several different browsers (Opera, Netscape, Firefox, etc.).
