My Flash Movie Won't Play.....
If the movie in your template worked fine one day and then stopped working the next, check to see if you have upgraded to Flash Player 9.
Some movies created with the SwishMax program (our favorite Flash-type animation program) that use dynamic or embedded content may not view correctly or not at all. Don't panic because there is a very easy fix.
- First, open your FrontPage web. Find the swf file and make a copy of it (Control + C then Control + V). Now tuck this copy away into another folder for safekeeping. Close your web.
- Next, go to the Swishzone.com site's support section. On the page you will see a download for the SW9Patch. It's a small 204kb file.
- Download the file and save it to your desktop or to a folder on your hard drive. Unzip the file.

- Double-click on the SW9PatchGui.exe to start the process. You will navigate using the browse button to your web folder that contains the swf file you want to update. Don't forget to uncheck the "Test Mode" option.
- The fix takes only a few seconds.
- When done, open FrontPage and your web, and republish your site.
- That's it......it's fixed! Very easy.
- If all works as it should, you can delete the swf file copy you made in Step 1.
If you already have the SwishMax program, you can upgrade to a newer version for free. The newer version has fixed the Flash Player 9 issues. We can send you the SWI source file and you can open it in SwishMax (Build Date 2006.06.29 or higher.) Once you save the SWI file and export a new SWF file to your web, you will not have any further issues with the Flash Player 9. Don't forget to republish your site.
It seems there have been a lot of changes in the past few months that have affected Flash-based movies. We are working to update our older templates that have issues, but it is a slow process. Be sure to also read our tutorial on the SWF Object Script!!
As always, if you have any questions or have problems, send us an email and we will help as quickly as we can.
