Editing DWT Pages
DWT Files
Your template comes with one or more DWT (dynamic web template) pages, one for each page layout. You will want to edit each of these "master" pages in order to modify your site name, edit navigation links, change the copyright statement, etc. The process is similar in both FrontPage and Expression Web.

When you open a DWT file, you will see common page areas such as navigation links, header content, footer area that will normally contain your copyright statement and links, and bordered areas where your content is to go. Note that you do not add text into these content areas.

Hint: Turn on Visual Aids
In the example screenshot below, we will edit one of the hyperlinks.

Highlight an existing hyperlink that you wish to edit. Right-click and select Hyperlink Properties from the menu. In the dialog box that appears, we are editing the text in the box next to "Text to Display". We have changed that text from Product Catalog to Store Catalog. Once the change is made, click OK.

When you save your changes, you will receive a prompt that there are pages that are attached to this particular dwt and you will be asked if you want to update these pages with your changes. Click Yes.
Editable and Non-editable Regions
When you open any web page for editing, you will notice that you are not able to edit certain portions on the page.

Non-editable regions will appear grayed out. When you mouse over one of these areas, you will see a symbol like the one shown above. Editable regions will appear with a border and will be in its usual color. You can delete text from any editable region and replace it with your own.
